Eric Haram and his daughters, Ava, 8, and Lia, 5, of Bowdoinham visit the Spring Day Creamery in Durham during the Maine Cheese Guild Open Creamery Day on Sunday. Sarah Spring, not pictured, opened her cheese room and offered samples of the goat and cow’s milk cheeses that she makes on her farm at the end of the Day Road. After 35 years of making yogurt, Spring woke up one morning and decided to make cheese as well, said the French teacher at Falmouth Middle School. “I love doing this,” said Spring, who makes cheese three days a week and sells it at farmers’ markets. Fifteen creameries from across Maine participated in the annual event. Spring’s daughter-in-law, Victoria Bastide, is at left.
