LEWISTON — Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Family Church will host a community-wide Veterans Day prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at the church, 607 Sabattus St.
It will be the seventh year that Holy Family offers the “We Remember and Give Thanks” evening of refection, honoring those who have served and those who are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces.
The Rev. Nathan March, pastor of Prince of Peace Parish, will be joined by the Rev. Lissa Bradford, chaplain at the Hospice House and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, and the Rev. Jay Turner, director of pastoral care at Central Maine Medical Center.
Music for the occasion will be a combined effort of the choir members from area Lewiston and Auburn churches. Henry St. Pierre will direct the combined group accompanied by Dr. Paul Caron, who will perform his own arrangement of military songs that honor the different branches of the military as the flags for each are presented.
All are invited no matter what denomination or faith affiliation. All active and inactive military and their families are invited to attend. Those active soldiers living in the area or that are home on leave are urged to attend in uniform. Veteran and military spokespersons from Maine Military and Community Network will be available for information and discussion after the service.
