LISBON FALLS — The wedding of Mary Ella Ganong and Matthew Steven DeGroft was held at 1 p.m. on May 29 at the Lisbon Falls Baptist Church. Pastors Steven DeGroft and Brian Ganong, fathers of the couple, officiated at the ceremony.
Mrs. DeGroft is the daughter of Brian and Peggy Ganong of Lisbon Falls. Mr. DeGroft is the son of Rev. Steven and Linda DeGroft of Lisbon.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory A-line gown with sweetheart neckline, lace overlay embellished with crystal and pearl detail and also wore a fingertip champagne veil borrowed from her aunt, Julie. She carried a bouquet of ivory roses with purple accent flowers.
A sister of the bride, Rachel Ganong, served as honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Heather Fraser and Kendall Dean, friends of the bride. Alivia and Felicity Jones, friends of the couple, were flower girls.
Serving as best man was Cody Fraser, friend. Ushers were Brandon Craig and Evan Ancona, friends. Malachi Ganong, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.
A garden reception followed at the home of the parents of the bridegroom, after which the couple traveled to the White Mountains in New Hampshire. They are residing in Factoryville, Pa.
The bride is a 2006 graduate of Lisbon Falls Christian Academy and a 2007 graduate of Word of Life Bible Institute in New York. She is also a 2009 graduate of Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, Pa., earning a degree in theology.
The bridegroom is a 2007 graduate of Lisbon Falls Christian Academy and is currently finishing his senior year at Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, Pa., and is also enrolled in the ROTC program. Upon graduation in 2011, he will be commissioned as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
