Blue Christmas

BETHEL — A Blue Christmas service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, at West Parish Congregational Church, Church Street. All are welcome to gather at the ecumenical service to acknowledge their “Christmas Blues,” the reasons for them and offer them to God.

Carol Stevens and Virginia Rickeman will lead the service. Those who wish to support someone feeling “blue”are also welcome.

After school

DIXFIELD — Ludden Library will introduce its new after-school program on Tuesday, Jan. 4. The program will be open to all school-age children and will be held downstairs in the Community Room from 3 to 5 p.m. every Tuesday. They will play board games, do crafts and have a snack.

DIXFIELD — Neighborly Senior Citizens met on Dec. 15 at the Dixfield Legion with 28 present. Due to the weather, a short meeting was held followed by lunch.

Door prize winner was Marie Coffin. Observing a December birthday was Bob Gardner, who turned 85. Observing anniversaries were Bucky and Eleanor Dunham, 40 years, and Joe and Faye Roy, 53 years.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 19, with entertainment by Laurence Pare. Members are asked to bring items for a sale. Dues cards for 2011 will be available.

Reservations are being taken for the trip to Indian Head for the annual St. Patrick trip. Also anyone wishing to go to the Cabana Le Sucre at Lac Megantic are asked to call Connie at 364-4189. There is still time to obtain the needed pass card. Those going do not have to be seniors members. For more information, call Connie at 364-4189.
