RANGELEY — The next round of the Better For Life and Superfit challenges will get under way  in January at the Rangeley Wellness Pavilion.

In the 2011 challenge team members will have the option of competing in either the Better For Life or Superfit programs. Enrollment is open between Saturday, Jan. 1, and the start date of Thursday, Jan. 6.

The goal of the Better For Life challenge is to lose extra pounds and inches while learning about maintaining a healthy lifestyle through exercise and nutrition.

Competitors in the Superfit contest will work toward developing muscle tone and strength. Superfit assessments must be completed by Sunday, Jan. 9.

During the first 16 weeks of the six-month competition, motivation points will be awarded for gym visits, exercise class and educational session attendance.

The final weigh-ins and assessments for both competitions will take place the week June 27 to July 1, with the grand finale on July 11. Individual grand prizes will be awarded in each contest along with a team prize.
