LEWISTON — Jeannette F. Dumais, 91, of 127 College St., died Friday, Jan. 7, at Montello Manor.

She was born in Lewiston, May 14, 1919, the daughter of the late Arthur and Clothilde Dube Dumais. She was educated in Lewiston schools and was employed many years at Knapp Shoe and later at Bradlee’s Department Store.

Jeannette was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. She was a very caring person and always came to help her family, starting with her parents, brothers and sisters and anyone in need could depend on her help.

Jeannette enjoyed dining out and taking rides around Lake Auburn with her sister and brother-in-law, Germaine and Wallace Dixon.

She is survived by nieces, Connie Dumais of Harpswell, Judy Prosser of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Carol Dumais of Ottawa, Canada, Cecile Evenson of Eagle Point, Ore., Yolande Dube of Cromwell, Conn., and Irene Bernard Pomerleau of Lewiston; nephews, Karl Dumais of Gainsville, Fla., Richard Dumais of Wilson, Wyo., Alcid Dumais of Lisbon, Laureat Bernard of Beverly Hills, Fla., and Richard Bernard of Hamden, Conn.

She was predeceased by three sisters, Rose Bernard, Lucy Paul and Germaine Dixon; three brothers, Arthur, Roland and Alcid Dumais; and a nephew, Leo Bernard.
