DEAR SUN SPOTS: After watching TLC’s new show called “Extreme Couponing,” I am excited about the idea of saving big bucks. I’m wondering if there are any extreme couponers in the Lewiston-Auburn or Lisbon areas? I am interested in learning the process. Perhaps if there are enough of us we could start a club of some sort. Thanks. — Sandi K., sandiking61@yahoo.com

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Does anyone out there know where there’s an appraiser? I have some old stuff and I’d like to find out if it’s worth anything.

Also, is there anyone out there that sells Tupperware, I’d like to buy some stuff from them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. — C.T., Lewiston

ANSWER: Sun Spots has found that the best way to find the value of almost anything is online, often at eBay. But she notes that your letter is handwritten, so you may not have access to a computer. In that case, one option is to use a consignment seller. Sun Spots has three in her Rolodex:

* Oxford Depot, 11 Mechanic Falls Road, Oxford, ME 04270, 539-2202

* Stephen J. Martelli, Auburn, 786-9116, sjmartelli@myfairpoint.net

* Nola, Goin Postal, 120 Center St., Auburn, 784-9900

Also, you didn’t specify what you wanted appraised, but if it’s antiques or collectibles, you might inquire at Orphan Annie’s, 96 Court St., Auburn, 782-0638.

As for Tupperware, someone will undoubtedly write in and offer their services, but you can also visit http://tinyurl.com/292qpvr, which allows you to find a consultant using your address.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a very old Shakespeare book, “Tragedy of Macbeth.” It’s 5- by 4-inches and has a gold coat of arms with an eagle holding a spear in one claw on the cover, which I think is leather. It was published in London by J.M. Dent & Co. Aldine House W.C.: MCMIII Non Sans Droict Published in London by J. Any information as to age and value would be helpful. Thank you. — No Name, Rumford

ANSWER: Again, as with the previous question, you could check online. Your librarian should be able to help you. But if you are willing to drive to Portland, you could take your book to Carlson and Turner Antiquarian Books and Bookbindery, 241 Congress St., 773-4200. One thing Sun Spots can tell you, thanks to high school Latin, is that MCMIII is 1903.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Thank you for all the help you give to people. Is there a place or organization where illustrated calendars can be recycled? I have many with beautiful pictures, Norman Rockwell, etc. Thank you for any information you can give. — No Name, Greenwood

ANSWER: Sun Spots does not know of any such place. So many calendars are printed that she doubts if there is much demand for old ones, even with beautiful photos. But you should be able to recycle them at your transfer station.
