DIXFIELD — One week before Christmas, Marie Nadeau of Dixfield received the news she had colon cancer.
Nadeau has been a volunteer driver for Maine’s Community Concepts for many years. She has four children and 12 grandchildren. After surgery in Portland to remove the cancer, she will need chemotherapy.
A benefit will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, at Jimmy the Greek’s restaurant in Old Orchard Beach. There will be a 50/50 raffle, donated product/service raffles and a cake/pie bingo.
All proceeds will help Nadeau pay medical expenses and to keep her home and car. All donations will be accepted.
Donations may be sent to the Congregational Church of Dixfield, 10 High St. For more information, contact Angela Leavitt at 418-7593 or mainemama4@yahoo.com.
