BUCKFIELD — Mark S. George, 55, died at home Jan. 24, after a period of declining health.

He was born Dec. 19, 1955, in Rockland, a son of Fred F. and Dale (Messer) George, who have predeceased him. He was a graduate of Medomak Valley High School and earned an associate’s degree in electronics from the University of Maine, Gorham.

He worked at Gates Formed Fiber in Auburn for 26 years. His interests included hunting, fishing, boating, gardening and most other outdoor activities.

Survivors include two sons, Jerromey George and his companion, Hayley Rolfe, of Monmouth and Jesse George, who is currently stationed with the U.S. Air Force in Japan; a daughter, Joni George of Livermore; three brothers, Gregory George and his wife, Julie, of Windham, N.H., Christopher George of Auburn and David George of Warren; two sisters, Rhonda Stitt and her husband, Gary, of Randolph, N.H., and Anita George and her companion, Faye Welsh, of Auburn; and eight nieces and nephews.
