NORWAY — M. Patricia Cook, RN, MSN, EdD, vice president of clinical services at Stephens Memorial Hospital has announced that it now provides the latest in digital mammography screening technology.

The hospital has just earned a certified Pink Ribbon Facility, a distinction awarded only to an elite group of health care facilities. By offering women digital mammograms, the facility hopes to increase the number of area women who follow recommendations for regular screenings.

Selenia™ digital mammography incorporates revolutionary imaging technology that provides incredibly sharp breast images. The images appear on the technologist’s monitor in a matter of seconds, so there is no waiting for film to develop. It also reduces the need for repeat exams due to underexposure or overexposure.

For those interested in scheduling a mammogram or have questions about the new procedure, contact the Women’s Imaging Center at 743-5933.
