LISBON — No horses, or people, were injured when the roof of a large riding arena collapsed Monday morning under a snow load.

River View Horse Farm owner Lisa Bosse confirmed Monday morning that there had been a collapse and that she was notifying horse owners of the situation. Photographs of the barn show that a sizable section of roof and wall had toppled over, but much of the structure seemed unharmed.

A witness said the horses were kept in a section of the building that did not collapse, although they have now been removed from the building.

River View Horse Farm offers horse training and riding lessons. The arena and stables are located at 58 Edgecomb Road.

Bosse said she was waiting for an insurance adjuster to arrive Monday morning. She declined to comment further when contacted by the Sun Journal later Monday evening.

The incident is the most recent in a string of snow-induced roof collapses around Maine and New England.
