LEWISTON — Dorothy V. Lepage, 67, of Scribner Boulevard died Tuesday, Feb. 15, at her residence after a valiant and courageous battle with cancer, never losing her spirit for life.

She was born in Lewiston, Jan. 20, 1944, the daughter of the late Albert and Marcella (Beaudoin) Tankey. She was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1962. She furthered her education at University of Maine Presque Isle Campus. She was then a physical education instructor at Lewiston High School, and went on to teach at the Multi Purpose Building and Frye School.

Dorothy then started her career for Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. prior to her retirement. She will be remembered as a people person enjoying her family, friends and the outdoors, including, sporting events with her grandchildren, weekly outings with friends and the beach at Ocean Park. She was an avid Patriots fan and very proud of her home and its surroundings.

She was the wife of Richard T. Lepage, who died on Oct. 30, 2004.

She is survived by two children, including her son, John D. Payne and his companion, Deeann Grazioso, of Lewiston; her daughter, Shannon Labbe and her husband, Michael, of Brunswick; her sister, Joan L. Tankey of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Megen, Kailey, Tommy and Lauren, two stepchildren, Thomas Lepage of New Hampshire, and Michelle Mikolajczyk of Vermont.

A special thank-you to the staff at the Maine Center for Cancer Medicine, especially to Dr. Ebrahim and Dr. Bristol, as she referred to them as her two guys that believed in her and thinking outside the box.
