BANGOR — Ronald R. Staires, 51, of Orono, died unexpectedly Feb. 11, at Eastern Maine Medical Center surrounded by family.
He was born Dec. 13, 1959, in Bourne, Mass., to Jo-Ann and Ronald Staires. Ronald graduated from Mexico High School, Class of 1978. Following graduation, he went to college in Orono, then went to California, where he lived for 21 years.
He returned to Maine in 2001, where he spent the rest of his life with family and friends. Ronnie enjoyed life to the fullest by traveling, music and theater.
Ronald is survived by his mother, Jo-Ann; two brothers, Tony and wife, Barbara, of Denmark and Carey and wife, Kelly, of Roxbury; a sister, Julie and partner, Alice, of Auburn; five special nephews, Korey, Nathan, Justin and another Justin (godchild) and Luke; two special nieces, Kayla and Mariah; and one special great-nephew, Cohen.
He was predeceased by his father, Ronald R. Staires; and an infant brother.
