WEST PARIS — Claribel Poland, 98, of Woodstock died Feb. 22, at Ledgeview Living Center.
She was born Aug. 24, 1912, in South Paris, the daughter of Harrison and Lillian Swift.
She belonged to the Willing Workers and was honored as the town of Woodstock’s oldest citizen in 2009, and given a gold cane.
She enjoyed family and friends and worked in the restaurant business.
Survivors include her children, Leon Poland Jr., Beverly Dayton, Kenneth Poland and Donna Kusheba; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Leon (Buster) Poland; one brother; and three sisters.
