GREENE — Greene Community Scholarship applications are available at the Greene Town Office and the Leavitt Area High School guidance department.

The one-page application does not require any financial information, but does require a written essay. When writing an essay, students are asked to use spell check in order to avoid English and spelling errors.

All parents of graduating seniors who reside in Greene should encourage their student to fill out the application. A student could receive as much as $3,500.

It is necessary that all paperwork be turned in with the application in order to be considered. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Students may get help from the LAHS guidance office in acquiring the paperwork needed.

The Greene Bicentennial Scholarship applications are also available at the guidance office.

Taxpayers of Greene have raised money at the annual March town meetings and the Community Scholarship Committee reminds residents the meting will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 5.

The deadline is April 22. Applications may be dropped off at the town office or left at LAHS.
