LISBON — Firefighters rescued a juvenile male after he fell through ice on a small pond near Farwell Mill on Monday evening, Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office dispatcher Ryan Guay said.

The boy held onto an ice shelf after falling into the unnamed body of water at about 6:30 p.m., Guay said. Lisbon police and fire personnel were called to the scene, and volunteer firefighter Lt. Eric Watson, wearing a cold water rescue suit, pulled the boy out, according to Guay. The water was not above the boy’s head, Guay said.

The boy, whose name was not available Monday evening, was taken to the hospital by his parents, according to Guay.
