FARMINGTON — Chappy arrived at the Franklin County Animal Shelter as a 3- to 4-week old kitten and then went to a foster home.

He is now 10 months old and would like to find his forever home. Chappy is a strapping young boy who loves other felines and dogs, staff said. One of his favorite pastimes is playing with a couple of other kitties at the shelter. They often chase each other around the cat room, under and over the couch.

Staff learned Chappy liked dogs when he ran across the room to greet one of the mascot dogs. A nose-to-nose hello, a little purr and some cute maneuvers around the dogs legs were observed.

New dogs at the shelter include a terrier mix from Wilton.
