POLAND — A group of volunteers is striving to make a difference in the community – and is asking for additional help. The volunteer project will take place on Join Hands Day, Saturday, May 7, a national day of service sponsored by Modern Woodmen of America and other fraternal benefit societies.

The project in Poland will include planting trees and flowers around the Community Church and planting flowers in the memorial garden. It will run from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the church on Maine Street.

Join Hands Day is the only national day of service designed to bring youth and adults together to plan and implement volunteer service projects in their communities.

Jennifer Boyd, project coordinator for the local initiative, said, “We want to make a difference in our community on May 7. By connecting with others, we can make an even greater impact.”

For more information or to volunteer, contact Boyd at 998-2860 or visit modern-woodmen.org.
