LEWISTON — The annual Memorial Day parade and ceremony in Lewiston and Auburn will be held on Saturday, May 28. The parade will start from Kennedy Park at 9:30 a.m., and after going around the Auburn Plaza, will end at Veterans Memorial Park for a ceremony to honor those who lost their lives for the country.
L & A Veterans Council Chairman Ray Boulet has named Willie Danforth as parade chairman. Veterans, organizations, businesses, youth groups and military units can register to participate by calling Danforth at 777-4759. Vehicles military hardware and floats are invited, but need to have signs on them identifying who they represent.
Boulet has named Air Force Col. Dan McCormick to be the grand marshal and featured speaker. Bert Dutil, former council chairman and presently adviser, has been named as chairman for the ceremony.
