AUBURN — The Edward Little Music Association will sponsor the first Lewiston-Auburn Pizza Challenge from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, at Auburn Middle School, 38 Falcon Drive.

Several Lewiston-Auburn area pizza makers will be providing the pizza for this fundraising event and will be competing for the title “Best Pizza in Lewiston-Auburn.” The event benefits the music association, which supports the music programs at both Edward Little High School and the Auburn Middle School.

“We believe this is not only a great opportunity to raise much needed funds for the music programs, but also an excellent marketing opportunity for our area pizza makers,” says association member Dan Philbrick. “People attending will have the opportunity to try a variety of different pizzas from the Lewiston-Auburn area.”

Adults pay $5, while kids 6-18 pay $3. Kids 5 and under are free. The contest will be based on only cheese or pepperoni pizza; however the participating vendors have been invited to highlight other specialty items they sell and provide information such as menus and coupons to promote their business.

Each person paying admission will be given a card, and will then place that card in designated containers (of their favorite) at a voting table. At 3 p.m. the polls will close and all the votes will be tabulated. Beverages and baked goods will also be available for sale at the event.
