Green Church

MEXICO — The Mexico Congregational United Church of Christ (the “Green Church”) will hold a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. on April 21. Members of the Rumford United Methodist Church will also participate in the service, and Jesus’ Last Supper with his disciples will be commemorated with Holy Communion. The Mexico church will join in a Good Friday service at the Rumford Methodist Church on April 22.

Following the 6 a.m. ecumenical Sunrise Service in the Mountain Valley Middle School parking lot in Mexico on Easter Sunday, April 24, breakfast will be served in the Mexico Congregational Church dining room. The worship service on Easter will be at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary.

All are welcome.

Historical Society

MEXICO — The Mexico Historical Society will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 25, at the Cal Lyons Room. A potluck supper will be followed by a business meeting and a continuation of family histories.

Cemetery group

MEXICO — The Farrington Moron Cemetery Association will have its annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, at the Congregational Church conference room.

Election of officers and other pertinent business will be on the agenda. Anyone owning a lot in the cemetery is a member of the association and is welcome to attend. Members should be aware that no new shrubbery is to be planted in the cemetery.

Seniors meet

RUMFORD — The Rumford Senior Citizens will meet Wednesday, April 27. The board will meet at 10 a.m. followed by the member meeting and a potluck lunch.

The new board members are President Marie Marcoux, Vice President Beverly Collins, Secretary Marcia Hamlin and Jane MacFarlane and Jim Collins.

Class of 1949

RUMFORD — Members of the Stephens High School class of 1949 will meet for their regular monthly luncheon at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, at Brian’s Bistro.
