MEXICO — The Police Department responded to 55 calls in the past nine days, including the following incidents.

Arrests

Roberto Colon, 44, of River Road, Mexico, domestic assault, at 6:15 p.m. April 16 at the River Road residence. He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant. He was taken to Oxford County Jail in Paris. He is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on June 7.

Charles Gates, 49, of Porter Bridge Road, Mexico, domestic assault, shortly after 6 p.m. April 13 at a Porter Bridge Road residence. He was taken to Oxford County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on May 3.

Vandalism

Mexico highway garage employees reported at 12:25 p.m. April 20 that someone had used a BB gun to shoot several windows at the garage and on a bucket loader. There was about $500 damage.

Advertisement

A Roxbury Road resident reported at 6:39 p.m. April 18 that someone keyed her vehicle while it was parked in front of her home. There was about $300 damage. Police have leads.

Scam

Two Riverside Drive residents reported at 9:44 a.m. April 15 that they had been scammed out of a total of $1,068 when they attempted to secure a loan through an advertisement in a local weekly newspaper. The perpetrators are believed to be based in Canada and Nigeria.

Lost bicycles

A Mountain Valley Taxi employee reported that two children’s bicycles have been in the Mexico Plaza for about a week. Owners may contact the Mexico Police Department.
