CANTON — Herbert K. Harding, 57, a resident of Main Street, Canton, passed away early Easter morning, April 24, at his home following a short illness.
He was born May 9, 1953, in Rumford, the son of Frank C. and Avis J. (Marston) Harding. He was a graduate of Dixfield High School.
Herbert was an independent contractor for FedEx for the last eight years. He loved seeing old friends on his route.
He enjoyed gardening, the Boston Red Sox, the Boston Bruins, the New England Patriots and NASCAR. He was an avid historian of the local town and was proud that his family history goes back to when the town was first settled.
He is survived by his sons, Chad and Matthew Harding, both of Canton; his sister, Debbie Robbins and her husband, Wayne, of Dixfield; grandchildren, Abigail Harding and Matthew K. Harding; niece, Leah Robbins; nephew, Nathan Robbins; and his former wife, Cheryl Slivinski and her husband, Tom, of Lewiston.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Donnie Stevens and Jackie and Scott Kilbreth for their devotion and companionship during the last weeks of his life. Messages of condolence may be sent to: www.finleyfuneralhome.com.
