JAY — Police made four arrests since Friday, with the most recent being early Tuesday morning, police Chief Larry White Sr. said Tuesday.

Officer Nicholas Gulliver issued a disorderly conduct warning at 1:47 a.m. Tuesday to Michael J. Beall, 25, at 61 Main St., he said. Shortly after the officer left, the Jay police received another complaint of yelling and screaming coming from same address, White said.

When Gulliver arrived on the scene he heard a woman crying and a man telling her to shut up, he said. The officer knocked on the door, it was opened and Michael Beall ran toward the doorway and threw a punch at Gulliver, White said.

Gulliver was able to block the punch and subdue Beall and arrested him on a charge of assault on an officer, disorderly conduct and refusing to submit to arrest, White said. He was taken to the Franklin County jail in Farmington.

In another incident, police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on Sunday at 5A Pleasant Drive in North Jay, White said. Officer Russell Adams investigated and learned that a woman had been assaulted by a family member, he said.

The woman who attacked the family member had left before Adams arrived, White said.

Adams completed his investigation and located Jeanette Nowell, 22, on Church Street in Jay. After interviewing her, Adams arrested her on a charge of domestic violence assault and took her to the county jail.

In a third case, police responded to a report of a fight in progress Saturday involving a baseball bat at 72 East Dixfield Road in North Jay, White said.

Cpl. Jeff Fournier responded and located two males who had been in an altercation, he said. A baseball bat was found at the scene, but it was questionable whether it had been used, White said.

The argument was over visitation of children for Easter by one of the males,  he said. Justin Turner, 28, of Wilton was arrested on charges of criminal trespass, harassment and violation of conditions of release, White said. He was taken to jail.

Turner “had been warned on a prior date not to come to the residence or harass the parties living at that address,” he said.

Wilton and Livermore Falls police also responded to assist due to the report of a weapon being used.

Police also responded to another domestic dispute at 8:40 p.m. Friday at 70 Lomie Rivers Road. Upon arrival, officers Mike Mejia and Dean Couture were confronted by two women and a man who were intoxicated, White said.

The officers warned one woman and Joseph Conlogue in regards to disorderly conduct, because both would not stop yelling, he said. No assaults had taken place but the three intoxicated subjects were having a verbal dispute, White said.

Conlogue, 27, of Jay became aggressive toward the officers and began to challenge them, stating he would knock them out, White said.

Mejia drew his Taser and ordered Conlogue to comply and told him he was under arrest, he said. Conlogue complied with the order and asked not to be hit with the Taser, White said.

Conlogue was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and obstructing government administration and taken jail.
