TURNER — A 2012 budget adopted by the SAD 52 school board last month will go to the community for a district budget vote at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, at Leavitt Area High School. All registered voters in the district are encouraged to attend.

A week after that budget vote, the public Budget Validation Referendum — the next step in the budget approval process — will take place from 1 to 7 p.m. on May 10 at the Greene, Leeds and Turner town offices.

The overall proposed budget for fiscal year 2012 is $22.9 million, which reflects an increase of $254,887 (1.13 percent) over the current year. The proposed budget would result in a local increase of $132,049 for Greene; $60,449 for Leeds; and $165,067 for Turner, pending approval of the proposed state subsidy.
