LEWISTON — The second-annual Paul St. Pierre Memorial Softball Tournament will take place this year on Saturday, May 14, at the Randall Road softball complex in Lewiston.

The one-pitch tourney is coming off a successful first year, and is looking to grow in 2011. St. Pierre, an avid sports fan and area athlete, passed away in the spring of 2010 in a single-car accident, leaving behind a wife and young daughter.

This one-pitch, co-ed tournament will be a one-day, double elimination event, and all proceeds will benefit an education fund created for Paul’s daughter, Rianna.

Last season, we received 12 entries and raised more than $2,300. This year, we are capping the number of teams at 16. Fees this season are $250 to include t-shirts, or $210 without. Limited numbers of t-shirts will be available at the fields for purchase, and like last year, food will be made available for a donation, as well.
