The Paris Public Library has received an $8,000 grant from the Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation towards installing a split ductless air conditioning system. To raise the required $15,000, the library has been accepting contributions in a variety of ways, including raffling $10 chances towards one of five prizes, selling $1, $5 and $10 “fan” placards, accepting cans and bottles for the deposits, or offering, for $200, an “ice cube” to dedicate on the library’s fundraising thermometer. The library also applied to the STK Foundation for a grant. The grant, combined with the money raised so far, leaves the Paris Public Library just $1,400 from its goal. For more information, or to contribute, contact the library by calling 743-6994, or e-mailing paris.public.library@MSLN.net.
