U.S. Sen. Olympia J. Snowe (R-Maine), at left, recognized DJ Gerrish of Rumford, who interned for the office in Auburn. DJ was born in Portland and raised in Dixfield, before moving to Rumford in 2004. He attended Mountain Valley High School, where he was a three-sport athlete and National Honor Society member. DJ is currently a senior at the University of Maine at Farmington and is a captain and point guard on the men’s basketball team. DJ assisted Snowe through numerous responsibilities, ranging from greeting constituents to handling various constituent requests.
