PARIS — Yo-yos attached to bouncy balls. Yo-yos with 10-foot strings. Multiple yo-yos looping while a husband-and-wife duo hula hoops and unicycle.

These are some of the feats audience members will witness Saturday, June 25, when The Yo-Yo People take the stage at Celebration Barn Theater.

John Higby and Rebecca Loomis Higby hold a Guinness World Record and a 2008 Yo-Yo World Champion title. They have appeared on the “David Letterman Show” and have performed in more than 20 countries.

The husband-and-wife duo brings back that nostalgic toy, reminding us of old favorite tricks such as Walk the Dog and Rock the Baby, then adds new and bizarre tricks, such as Boingy-Boingy and Iron Whip.

“To do what these performers do is pretty extraordinary … it’s not just the ability to handle a yo-yo or do a juggling trick, it takes a lot to engage people to really make them have a moment of spontaneous joy. … These two people deliver that in droves,” said Al Kraizer, producer of the Denver Busker Festival.

The show will begin at 8 p.m. at the theater on Stock Farm Road, just off Route 117. Tickets are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors, and $8 for students and children. For tickets, call 743-8452. For more information, visit www.CelebrationBarn.com.
