Upon reading an article about a man being charged with disorderly conduct after trying to pay a bill in pennies, I was reminded of stores that do not accept coins as payment. Coins are legitimate U.S. currency and there are laws protecting people who use coins.

Instead of a gripe, how about a comment for Flag Day on June 14th. I ride the city bus from Lewiston to Auburn, and going over the Veterans Bridge I look up and see the flags high in the trees. What a super sight. Thank you to who put the flags so high up. It’s a way to say thank you to our veterans.
