POLAND — A man who suffered a heart attack at Range Pond on Friday was later pronounced dead at a Lewiston hospital.

Investigators said the man, described as middle-aged, had a pre-existing health condition that likely contributed to his death.

The victim was not identified.

The man was in the water, along with dozens of others, when he began to show signs of distress, police said. He was pulled to shore where medics performed CPR. He was taken to a hospital where attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.
