OXFORD — An engineer from Main-Land Development shared drawings for a planned Little League baseball field at Pismo Beach at Thursday’s Board of Selectmen meeting.

No decision was made, but engineer Bob Berry showed plans for the new field, which would be located in a currently forested part of the Pismo Beach park behind the existing Little League field.

The plan includes a retaining wall at left field and walking path along the pond. The Little League-sized field would have a 60-foot base area and a 200-foot hitting line. It would face the existing field.

In a letter to Town Manager Michael Chammings, Berry estimated the field would cost about $35,000, the wall would cost about $25,000, and the gravel drive and parking area would cost around $15,000.

Because the project is located near Thompson Lake, the Department of Environmental Protection will require a stormwater permit-by-rule for the project.

Berry said pending DEP and Planning Board approval, the field could be constructed as early as September.
