LEWISTON — Organist Christopher Ganza will perform works by Durufle, Alain and Bach at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. Soprano Karen Pierce will make a special appearance.

Ganza is pursuing a master’s degree in organ performance at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Okla. He is also working as a graduate assistant in the university’s pipe organ shop, working on maintaining and restoring pipe organs for the university and local institutions.

He is the organist and director of music at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church of Oklahoma City.

Ganza recently played for the nationally televised installation mass of Archbishop Paul Coakley to the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, and was a finalist in the 2011 Arthur Poister Memorial Organ Competition. This fall, he will appear as a finalist in the 2011 Albert Schweitzer Organ Festival.
