On Thursday, Aug. 4, Matt Turk, who has performed both as a hard-rocking band leader and as an acoustic folk troubadour, will play at She Doesn’t Like Guthries. His 2010 “American Preservation” CD, a collection of traditional standards and well-loved classics, showcases his growing reputation as a re-interpreter of classic tunes. Besides singing, Turk plays mandolin, lap steel and guitar. The show starts at 6 p.m. No cover. On Friday, Aug. 5, the Juke Joint Devils, a band that plays a style of blues dating back to the days of the juke joints, will perform at the restaurant/cafe at 115 Middle St., Lewiston.
