LISBON — A Lisbon Falls driver was arrested Monday morning on an outstanding warrant after being involved in a minor accident on Route 196.

David Buteau, 24, of Claire Drive was taken into custody by officer Darin Estes on an Androscoggin County Superior Court warrant for failure to appear in court, according to police. He was booked at the Lisbon police station and released on bail.

Buteau was pulling onto Route 196 from Midtown Shopping Plaza to head east as Cheryl Carlson, 41, of Lisbon Falls had her van headed west in the turning lane on Route 196, according to police.

Damage was estimated at $500 each to Buteau’s 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier and Carlson’s 2003 Dodge Caravan.
