NORWAY — “A Valentine to Marriage” is how the authors of “I Do, I Do!” describe their charming and funny musical play, which Oxford Hills Music and Performing Arts Association will present  in November.

Auditions for this love story are at 6:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 15-16, at Christ Episcopal Church on Main Street.

Stage director Sally Jones and music director Steve Jones ask actors to come to auditions with a prepared piece to sing and sheet music or CD. An accompanist will be available.

Spanning the years from 1895 to 1945, “I Do, I Do!” focuses on the trials and tribulations of Agnes and Michael Snow throughout their marriage. The action takes place in their bedroom, starting with their wedding day and ending when they leave their home after 50 years of marriage.

The two characters are Michael, a writer, who is a little pompous and hard-headed, but romantic and tender; and Agnes, who is soft and feminine, but  independent and able to take her husband down a peg or two, if needed.
