LIVERMORE FALLS — Bailey Brothers Ford is helping to raise money for the Spruce Mountain Sports Bleacher Fund by encouraging people to test-drive Fords.

Bailey Brothers Ford is bringing Ford Motor Co.’s innovative Drive One 4UR School program to the community in an effort to raise up to $8,000 for Spruce Mountain High School. For every person who takes a free test drive between 2 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, Bailey Brothers Ford and Ford Motor Co. will donate $20 to $30 to Spruce Mountain Sports Bleacher fund.

Participants must be 18 or older and have a valid driver’s license.

When the fundraiser was held in 2009, it raised $3,800, Brenda Brochu, owner of Bailey Brothers Ford in Livermore Falls, said.

“We know how important extracurricular activities are to our high school students, and as part of this community, we want to help,” Brochu said. “This is why we’re excited to raise money for the Spruce Mountain Phoenix.”

The Phoenix are the combined teams of the former Jay Tigers and Livermore Falls Andies. The school districts consolidated July 1.

The event will feature the redesigned Ford Explorer, 2012 Focus, Fusion, Escape, Edge, F-150 with the new Ecoboost engine, and a Superduty 6.7L Diesel.

The first Phoenix football scrimmage will be held at 6 p.m. and Phoenix clothing will be on sale. There will be homemade french fries, hamburgers, nachos, sausage sandwiches, hot dogs, snow cones and more available.

People are also invited to take part in a raffle for Red Sox and Sea Dogs tickets and a 10- by 10-foot, pop-up canopy.

All the money raised will be going to the bleacher fund.

Cheerleaders will also have face painting for the kids.

The first 100 participants will receive a free gift bag.

“Our goal is to help the All-sports Boosters raise money for bleachers at all their different sports fields,” Brochu said. “(We’re) hoping the community comes out and helps support it so we can double what we did last time.”
