KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Tom Ouellette, president and owner of Budget Document Technology, based in Lewiston, with a second office in Bangor, recently assumed the 2011-12 national presidency of the Business Technology Association, a trade association headquartered in Kansas City, Mo. Ouellette previously served as president-elect and national vice president.
He will help oversee the programs and services of the organization for its 750 office technology dealership, manufacturer and supplier members nationwide.
After receiving his honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, Ouellette went to work for an independent dealership as a service technician, working on typewriters and copiers. In 1989, he founded his current company in his garage as a single-man operation. Today, Budget Document Technology, a Konica Minolta, Kyocera Mita America and Lexmark dealership, employs 22 people.
