RUMFORD — Patrol officers responded to 77 complaints from midnight Aug. 15 to midnight Aug. 22. Basic traffic stops are not given a complaint number.
Arrests/summonses
Aug. 15 at 12:10 a.m., Matthew Smith, 25, of Rumford was arrested by Patrolman Michael Belanger on Cumberland Street on a charge of attaching false plates. Smith posted $300 unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Nov. 8.
Aug. 15 at 7:30 p.m., Thomas Taylor, 50, of Rumford was arrested by Patrolman Joseph Sage on Maine Avenue on a warrant charging failure to pay fines for operating under the influence. Taylor was unable to post bail and was transported to the Oxford County Jail.
Aug. 16 at 8:22 a.m., Tausha Plante, 34, of Rumford was arrested by Patrolman Dave Hodgson on Hancock Street on a warrant charging failure to pay fines for theft. Plante, who was also charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia by Sgt. James Bernard, was unable to post bail, was transported to the Oxford County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on the new charges on Oct. 4.
Aug. 18 at 9:15 a.m., Scott Tripp, 33, of Mexico was arrested by Patrolman Brad Gallant on Route 2 on a warrant charging failure to appear for violation conditions of release. Tripp posted $200 cash and was released.
Aug. 20 at 2:15 a.m., Jeremy Fusco, 30, of Rumford was charged by Patrolman Brad Gallant on Lincoln Ave with operating after suspension. Fusco is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Nov. 8.
Aug. 21 at 8:59 p.m., Zachary Yahn, 21, of Rumford was charged by Cpl. Lawrence Winson on Route 2 with operating a motorcycle without a license. Yahn is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Nov. 8.
Criminal mischief
Aug. 17 at 12:48 a.m., Patrolman Joseph Sage investigated an incident where tires were cut on a parked vehicle on Essex Avenue. The damage was estimated at $400.
Theft
Aug. 15 at 11:12 a.m., Sgt. Douglas Maifeld investigated the theft of a bicycle from beside a residence on Prospect Avenue. Estimated loss: $50.
Aug. 15 at 8:59 p.m., Sgt. James Bernard investigated the theft of a firearm from a residence on Washington Street. The firearm was recovered.
Aug. 16 at 3:13 p.m., Sgt. Douglas Maifeld investigated the theft of a GPS from a vehicle of a Hall Hill resident. Estimated loss: $155.
Aug. 17 at 7:24 p.m., Patrolman Michael Belanger investigated the theft of a propane tank for a grill from a residence on York Street. Estimated loss: $50.
Wanted
Michelle Dias, 28, Rumford, is wanted on a warrant charging failure to pay fines for criminal mischief. The warrant is dated Aug. 15, 2011.
