FARMINGTON — Two men were injured in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning on the Fairbanks Road.

Joshua Ramey, 21, of Wilton was driving a 2004 Ford pickup truck north at about 1:20 a.m. Sunday when he came around a corner and struck a guardrail near the turn onto the South Strong Road, according to the police report.

After hitting the guardrail, the vehicle crossed the road onto a lawn and struck a large tree. It then spun around and the side of the truck hit another tree. The vehicle finally came to rest upside down and on the tree, Farmington Police secretary Bonnie Pomeroy said, reading from the report.

The back end of the truck was off the ground and on the tree about 6 feet up, she said.

Both Ramey and his passenger, Alan Boyker, 22, were injured and transported by NorthStar to Franklin Memorial Hospital.

Boyker was treated and released but Ramey was transported to Central Maine Medical Center Sunday, according to a representative from FMH.

On Monday, a CMMC representative said they could neither confirm nor deny that Ramey was a patient when asked about his condition.

The cause of the accident has not been determined. The vehicle’s airbag deployed but neither occupant was wearing a seat belt. An alcohol test is pending for the driver, according to the report.
