AUBURN — Auburn Youth Hockey is sponsoring a local event for IIHF Girls’ Hockey Day on Sunday, Oct. 2 from 4 to 5 p.m. The purpose is to help build awareness and grow girls’ hockey. Come help us celebrate the coolest game on earth and the growth of local girls’ hockey.

All Auburn Youth Hockey registered Girl players are welcome to join and bring a friend as well as any girl who wants to try hockey.

This is a fun event to start a new season or to just come try out hockey for the first time. Girls from ages 4 to 16 are invited to Ingersoll Arena to try hockey in a supported environment or spend some time with old teammates.

For new players: A limited amount of youth and junior sized hockey equipment will be available for loan as well as sticks and skate.

CMCC alumni hoop

AUBURN — Central Maine Community College is pleased to announce the dates for this year’s annual basketball alumni games. The games will be played at Kirk Hall on Saturday, Oct. 22. Men’s alumni who graduated before 2000 will play at 1:30 p.m. against the JV team; women will play the college varsity team at 3 p.m.; and men’s alumni who graduated after 2000 play the men’s varsity team at 4:30 p.m. Post-game activities will be held at Buffalo Wild Wings in Auburn.
