Jerry Chapman and Erin Hendricks watch as men from the Lewiston Water and Sewer Department turn off the water main on Campus Avenue in Lewiston on Monday. Chapman said water shot 6 feet into the air when the waterline was ruptured at around 4 p.m. in front of St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. A crew from Gendron & Gendron Corp. was working at the site of the break.
