The Perryville Needle Club was pleasantly entertained by Miss Edith Prescott at her home on Turner Street, Auburn, yesterday afternoon. After the usual sewing hour, refreshments were served and an informal program enjoyed. The next meeting will be held with Mrs. John Sellers of Davis Street, Auburn.
50 years ago, 1961
The annual apple sale sponsored by the Auburn-Lewiston Kiwanis Club will be held Saturday in the Twin Cities. Students from Lewiston and Edward Little high schools and Walton and Webster junior high schools will be selling apples on streets in both cities.

A Lewiston woman who has touched many people’s lives in many ways was honored for her 40 years of volunteer activities at St. Mary’s Hospital. Geraldine Beeaker, wife of Dr. Vincent Beeaker, retired from her volunteer activities and was honored with awards and a roast at a dinner at Campus Cuisine in Lewiston. She began her association with the hospital through the Patronesses and was instrumental in organizing the hospital gift shop and a preschool clinic that eventually became Pathways Inc.
