ROBBINSTON, Maine (AP) — A fire that swept through a farmhouse has killed two elderly people in the eastern Maine town of Robbinston.

The state fire marshal’s office says the victims in Monday night’s fire are believed to be a 92-year-old woman and a 71-year-old man who lived in the house. The fire was reported at about 6 p.m.

Officials say the victims’ names are expected to be released later Tuesday after the state medical examiner’s office has examined the bodies.

Fire investigators are attempting to determine how the fire started.

Robbinston is a small town of about 500 people just south of Calais.
