LEWISTON — Dale M. Williams, 72 , of East Avenue, died Thursday, Nov. 17, at Central Maine Medical Center, with his loving wife and family by his side.

He was born in Lewiston on Jan. 14, 1939, a son of the late Edgar and Ann Morrison Williams. He was educated in local schools.

He married the love of his life, Candide “Candy” Rousseau, on Nov. 5, 1960. He worked driving cement mixers and as a mechanic for many local companies, including Industrial Roofing Co.

He enjoyed taking rides with pilots at Twitchell’s Airport, building model airplanes, going to Las Vegas and Atlantic City to play slot machines, woodworking and taking cruise vacations. He enjoyed watching his fish in his fish tank at his home, fishing and especially looked forward to attending the annual Auburn Rec Fishing Derby with his grandson, Wesley. He will be missed by the friends he made at Lisbon Street News, where he would be found each night cleaning the coffee pots.

He leaves his wife of 51 years, Candy Williams of Lewiston; a daughter, Deborah Haire and her husband, Wes, of Auburn; three sons, Michael Williams of New Hampshire, Timothy Williams and his wife, Cheryl, of New Hampshire and Steven Williams of Nevada; a brother, Roger Williams of California; five grandchildren, Thomas, Dale, Koren, John and Wesley; four great-grandchildren, Ty, Ember, Juniper and Daemyn; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Pearlyne Gosselin and Nancy Nault; and two brothers, Clifford and George Williams.
