AUGUSTA — The Maine State Museum will host a “Model Train Celebration” on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 2-3.

The free event is geared to young and old alike, whether revisiting a nostalgic memory or a taking a first-time peek at model trains chugging along the tracks. It will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 2, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. the following day.

The Maine 3-Railers based in Augusta and the Great Falls Model Railroad Club of Auburn will be on hand with operating layouts of G, HO and O-gauge trains, complete with miniature villages and landscapes.
