MEXICO/RUMFORD — The First Baptist Churches of Mexico and Rumford, on behalf of the River Valley Union of Evangelical Churches, will present “Call Him Jesus,” a Christmas cantata, on Dec. 11 and 18.
Each month the fellowship member churches join for a united service at a host church, featuring guest speakers, musical and/or dramatic presentations and other special events. This December, the First Baptist churches will each host this stirring musical performance.
The first presentation will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, at Mexico First Baptist, 20 Roxbury Road. Light refreshments will be served immediately following. All are welcome to attend this free performance. A second presentation will be performed at 3 p.m. the following Sunday, Dec. 18, at Rumford First Baptist, 112 Washington St.
Vocalists include members of four area churches, under the direction of Sonya Pearson of First Baptist of Rumford. The cantata contains selections from Christmas carols and familiar classics, enhanced by new songs, and with a reading of the biblical account of the birth of Christ.
