LEWISTON — Vera A. Morse, 90, of Woodside Apartments in Lisbon, passed away Thursday, Dec. 1, at Central Maine Medical Center, with family at her side.

She was born in Mechanic Falls, Dec. 30, 1920, a daughter of Ralph L. and Gladys E. (Coffin) Holt. Vera was educated in local schools, graduated from Mechanic Falls High School in June 1940, and remained a resident of the greater Lisbon community.

As a young lady, she first worked as a housekeeper at the Warren Farm and it was there where she met the love of her life, Donald Morse. They were married soon thereafter on Sept. 15, 1940, at The Warren Farm. Vera was a longtime member of the Lisbon Falls Methodist Church and among her favorite enjoyments were knitting, crocheting, reading, doing puzzles, listening to church music and country music and spending time with family and friends. She was a loving, devoted and hard-working wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

She leaves three daughters, Donna Partridge and husband, Don, of Lisbon Falls, Patricia Leslie and husband, Tom, of Santee, Calif., and Lura Jackowski and husband, Frank, of Farmington, N.H.; a son, Ralph Morse and wife, Donna, of Lisbon; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Anaire of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews.

Vera was predeceased by an infant son, Don; an infant daughter, Nancy; an infant brother; two infant grandchildren, Sean Leslie and Benjamin Morse; two sisters, Ruth Caron and Roberta Greene; and a brother, Fred Holt.
