Cards for soldiers

BETHESDA, Md. — Send a wounded soldier a Christmas card. When filling out Christmas cards this year, take one card, or more, and send to: A Recovering American Soldier, c/o Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, 8901 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, Md., 20889-5600. This is a small way to say thank you to those who have sacrificed so much.

First U speaker

PARIS — Silver Moore-Leamon will be the speaker at the First Universalist Church on Pine Street at the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, Dec. 11. Moore-Leamons sermon is titled, “Shepherds? or Wisemen?” The music is under the direction of Forest Perkins. Child care is available and all are welcome. Coffee and fellowship will take place in Good Cheer Hall immediately after the service.

Holiday concert

PARIS — Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School will present a holiday concert at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, in the Mark S. Eastman Auditorium.

The concert will feature the OHCHS Orchestra under the direction of Mr. Kyle Jordan, and the OHCHS Choir and Chamber Choir under the direction of Mr. Dennis Boyd.

Ski pass drawing

NAPLES — The drawing for the Lake Region High School Project Graduation family ski pass to Shawnee Peak Ski area for the 2011-12 season will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at Tony’s Foodland.

Raffle tickets are on sale through Dec. 14 at Tony’s Foodland, Hayes True Value, Sportshaus and R.G. Johnsons. The day of the drawing, tickets will only be on sale at Tony’s Foodland until 5:45 p.m.

The pass is good for two adults and dependents.
