LEWISTON — The city of Lewiston will hold a runoff vote today, Tuesday, Dec. 13, to elect a mayor to serve a two-year term.

All voting will take place at the Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St.; polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Candidates for election are Robert Macdonald and Mark Paradis, the two candidates who drew the most votes among a field of five in the regular November election.

According to the city clerk, if Macdonald wins the election, he will assume the mayoral post. If Paradis, who died Friday, wins the election, the mayoral post will be declared vacant and the city will schedule a new election to replace outgoing Mayor Larry Gilbert.
